Jr. High Track Nueces Canyon Results

On Tuesday, March 21 The Jr. High Track team traveled to Nueces Canyon and compete against 11 schools. The boys placed 3rd over all out of 11 teams. Landon Cox placed 2nd in the 400 meter dash. Carson Hubert placed 4th in the 400 meter dash, 3rd in the 110 meter hurdles and 5th in the 300 meter hurdles. Ernesto Garza placed 3rd in the 300 meter Hurdles. Adam Andres placed 3rd in the discus. Matthew Sagemuehl placed 3rd in the triple jump. Jaden Rattler placed 5th in the high jump. The Girls place 7th out of 11 teams Ale Carmona placed 2nd place in the 400 meter dash.

Junior High Track Team Competes In La Pryor Meet

On Friday, March 3, 2017 the Knippa Junior High Track team traveled to La Pryor. The Jr. High girls place 4th overall and the Jr. High Boys finished 2nd in the meet. Coach Willis and Jack are very proud of all the athletes for their hard work. The results are as followed:

Jr. High Tennis Team Compete In Invitational Uvalde Meet

Part of the Knippa Jr. High tennis team competed in an invitational meet hosted by Uvalde on Friday, March 3 with good results.  Sarah Esquivel and Ashlynn Barbosa won first place in the girl's 8th grade doubles. Eighth graders Shelby Penney and Paige Balke won their opening round but lost out in the second round of play.  Makayla Schawe and Madison Wallace lost their opener then bounced back with wins to take the 8th girls' consolation awards. In 7th grade girls doubles, Brooklyn Ramsey and Sophia Garcia won their opening rounds, then lost in the quarterfinals. In 8th grade mixed doubles, Samuel Mehrle and Rylee Dodson captured third place. In 7th Grade boys' doubles, John Dong and Cole Matthews won second place while Carlos Quiroga and Brain Reading finished in 4th place. The 8th grade boys' doubles team of Micheal Williams and Caleb Packer claimed a 4th place finish in their division. The rest of the was KJHS players were entered in the singles tourney on Saturday that was canceled due to rain. Coach Jerry Radicke and Coach Beth Speer commented that the doubles players did a good job for their first tourney of the season. The junior high will host Brackettville in a scrimmage on Monday, March 6 at 4:00 PM.

Knippa ISD's Veterans day assembly recognizing those who have served our nation will take place in front of the school Friday, November 11 at 7:50 A.M. with a reception for guests to follow. Please join us as we honor these individuals for their selfless contributions.

2016 Annual Thanksgiving Feast

Knippa ISD will again be celebrating our annual Thanksgiving feast next week. Parents are invited to a special luncheon on Friday, November 18, 2016. The menu will consist of turkey, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, green beans, fruit salad, rolls and pumpkin pie. The cost of the meal will be $4.00 for all guests and can be paid the day of the meal. Friday's lunch schedule is:

PK, Kinder 10:30 AM
Grades 1st - 2nd 11:00 AM
Grades 3rd - 4th 11:30 AM
Grades 5th - 8th 12:00 PM
Grades 9th - 12th 12:300 PM

Please fill out the reservation form on the attached file and return it by Monday, November 14. We hope that you can join us for lunch and see your child's projects displayed in the cafeteria.

Knippa Harvest Festival & Pre-Sale Tickets

The Knippa School will hold its annual Harvest Festival on Friday, October 28, 2016.
The activities will begin in the gym at 6:00 P.M. with the:
  • Crowning of Mr. and Miss KHS
  • Costume parade
Children in 4th grade or younger wearing a costume may participate in the costume parade. They will be called down for the parade. All participants will receive a Festival ticket. PLEASE keep your children up in the stands with you until after the crowing of Mr. and Miss KHS.
Immediately after the parade, the food, fun, and games will begin in the cafeteria and elementary building. There will be a variety of booths for your entertainment.  For more information please view attached Hand-out and PreSale Tickets.

National School Lunch Week - 2016

Celebrate lunch at Knippa ISD

Next week the cafeteria will be celebrating National School Lunch Week. Since we are in an election year, our theme is Vote for a Winning Lunch. You will have a chance to vote for your favorite meal of the week. We want to encourage all students to eat a healthy lunch everyday so all of our meals contain fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, low fat milk and lean proteins. We will be giving small daily prizes to everyone who eats a lunch from the cafeteria. We will also draw 4 lucky winners everyday for prize bags filled with healthy snacks and fun red, white and blue items. Come join us next week for a healthy lunch!

PTO Hamburger & Hotdog Sell
